Please NOTE! 1973 and later Fiat 124 cars were fitted with steering boxes that had a small protrusion cut off from the casting from the factory, to improve clearance between the factory starter and the steering box.
Original steering boxes, 1972 and earlier, along with most modern "aftermarket" replacement steering boxes, have this protrusion left in place.
To use this gear reduction starter, you must ensure that the steering box in your vehicle has this protrusion removed as shown in the attached photo.
