This is a Factory OE, New Old Stock engine block for carbureted 1500, 138-series SOHC engines, as fitted on all North American spec Fiat Strada cars from 1979-1980.
This was block uses 12mm head studs and bolts, and has provisions for EGR smog fitment on side of block, including a coolant port that needs to be threaded and plugged prior to use.
Requires 86.4mm (stock) pistons and rings, available separately.
Includes all five main bearing caps and their bolts.
This engine block was intended for use in front engine applications and as-such does not have a threaded boss for a dipstick extension tube as found on rear engine Fiat Bertone X1/9.
This engine block is a great choice if building a 1500cc replacement motor for FWD Fiat 128 or Yugo cars.
If being used in an X1/9 application, a shorter Fiat Strada / 128 style oil dipstick 4336372 must be used.
