This is a very thin, nylon versuib emergency trunk cover release cable for all model year Fiat and Bertone X1/9s from 74-88. Cable is 38" long and is fitted behind the coolant bottle in the engine bay, allowing you to open the trunk if the main cable breaks.
If you are doing preventative maintenance or replacing the cables on your hood or engine cover handles, add an emergency cable while you are at it, (especially you 74-78 X owners with self-locking front hood latches!) Never worry again about what you will do if the main cable breaks.
