Up for sale is a spectacular 1979 Fiat 124 Spider 2000, freshly restored, inside and out.

This was a one-owner car and shows 70,500 miles on the odometer.
It includes original sales material including window sticker.
It has received a top-to-bottom, complete restoration by Midwest-Bayless and has approx. 300 tuning and shake-down miles, post-restoration.
It was disassembled down to the tub, soda blasted clean, (wiring harness out) repainted and reassembled. Every single system in the car has been serviced and replaced with new if needed.
This car has a carbureted 2.0L engine that runs great, paired with a 5-Spd manual transmission.

This car is one of the first 124 Spider 2000 cars produced with a build date 11/1978.
It is a rare and beautiful factory color, Ardesia Metallic 892" (Slate Blue).
Body and Exterior
The vehicle's exterior is excellent. Its rust-free body was stripped to the bare shell and soda blasted, with entire exterior and interior stripped and re-sprayed including engine bay, interior and trunk.
The body does not have structural rust or evidence of any collision repair.
The main areas such as the front shock towers, rear shock towers and rear trunk wells are excellent and unrepaired.
The front grille, air dam, and all front / rear rubber bumper trims are straight, clean and damage-free.
Bumpers have been "tucked" closer to the body to provide a cleaner appearance.
Original glass in all positions.
Engine, Fuel, Ignition, Exhaust and Cooling System
2000cc DOHC engine w/32 ADFA Weber Carb and Marelli electronic ignition.
NOTE: This car does not have any federal pollution control equipment remaining in the engine bay or exhaust, and will not pass OEM smog testing requirements.
The engine has been completely rebuilt to stock specification and dyno tuned/tested, producing about 110HP on 87 octane fuel. The original cylinder head was replaced with a cleaner 2.0L "fuel injection" style version without any of the ports required for EGR pollution control. Dyno sheets and video available!
Every engine system has been serviced. The car was converted to electric fuel pump, with auxiliary shaft modified to eliminate mechanical pump lobe to prevent crankshaft interference, new filter, genuine Weber 32 ADFA carb, timing belt and v-belt.
Cooling system has been fully serviced with new hoses, thermostat, temp sensors and water pump. Temps are perfect and engine bay is clean and tidy.
Electricals and Exhaust
New distributor coil, spark module, magnetic pick-up, cap, rotor, plugs, wires and ignition switch.
All lights and signals work as expected. Headlights have been converted to bright and low current H4 style LED. All cabin switches and gauges and work as expected.
The car has a 4-2-1 stock style exhaust manifold and downpipe.
New cat-delete center section and ANSA twin-tip sport muffler.
Transmission / Clutch / Driveline
The 5-Spd manual transmission was removed and rebuilt with fresh synchronizers and sliding sleeves. It shifts perfectly through all gears and reverse. Resurfaced flywheel, new clutch pack and clutch release cable.
Rear differential was opened for inspection, lash adjusted and new pinion seal and wheel seals. It is quiet. Driveshaft flex joint, center support, and universal joints replaced.
Steering / Suspension / Tires / Wheels / Brakes
Steering is tight, and car drives straight due to a total refurbishment of all suspension and steering components.
Front control arms have new ball joints and bushings, steering box has been replaced, with minimum center play. New tie rod ends and center link. New shock absorbers. Rear trailing arms and panhard rod have fresh bushings.
Brake system has been serviced with new steel hardlines (all brake pipes), master cylinder, calipers, pads, flexible hoses, rotors, rear compensator, and compensator linkage components.
14" silver basket alloy wheels with center caps and new Uniroyal 195-60/14 tires. The car has 15mm aluminum hub-centric spacers and has been converted to "lug studs and nuts".
Interior / Top
This car features an all original beige interior in excellent condition. No rips or tears on the seat covers, door panels or rear panel. All panels match. New beige tan carpets.
Dashboard is uncracked, center upper and lower consoles are very good original condition with minimal blemishes.
Leather wrapped, black basket OEM steering wheel. Wood trims are clean.
Seats have excellent covers and the seat frames are straight and unbent. Doors have power window lifts and work correctly. Side view and rear view mirrors operate correctly. Visors are new.
Heater system has been completely refurbished with new core, heater valve and hoses. All controls work correctly.
Excellent condition textured tan vinyl top.
Top frame works correctly and folds up and down with minimal effort.
Rear Trunk
Uncracked battery cover. Carpet, spare tire and jack.
