This is a set of four high quality, Made in USA piston rings for 1500 SOHC engines in Fiat X1/9 from 79-88 and Fiat Strada. 86.6 mm diameter. Fresh from the manufacturer. Also applicable to 1300 engines (Fiat 128, Yugo) with .6mm overbore.
If your stock 86.4 bores are slightly worn, and the old rings have more than .020 gap, use these in a "file-to-fit" fashion to help eliminate oil burning and blow-by on a budget rebuild.
This set includes chrome top rings, which are harder and more durable than cast iron, offering better durability and prolonged life. Chrome rings can, however, take longer to properly seat in cylinder bores that are not perfectly true, are glazed, or have not had a professional honing process performed. In those cases, cast top ring sets may be a better choice.
