A refurbishment of all major sub-systems has been performed by Midwest-Bayless Italian auto.
This car is West Virginia titled, by a client of Midwest-Bayless and will be an individual (not dealer) transaction. Midwest-Bayless will act as a broker for the transaction.
This car has a modest 64K miles, with a number of sport / performance goodies, and a clean bill of health from Midwest-Bayless.

The 1500cc Bosch L-Jet fuel injection engine runs great and gets super mileage. The chassis rides comfortably around town or on the highway. The 5-Spd manual transmission shifts perfectly in all gears. It has an extremely nice interior and presentable exterior. This is a reliable, mechanically sound car.
You can spend an enormous amount of time, money and effort restoring a worn-out X1/9 to this level, or you could begin enjoying this car right now!
Body and Exterior
The body is painted factory monochrome black (NERO), a relatively rare code. Most Bertones of this era were a two-tone scheme.
It is straight with no collision damage.
It is highly presentable at "5 feet" but would require an all-over paint job and very minor cosmetic body work at a couple of the fender arches to make into a show car.
The car has spots of 20 year old hardened tree sap on the hood and decklid that likely cannot be removed without a heavy solvent or sanding.
It has a few small cosmetic rust spots on a couple of fender arches, and a couple of minor dings that can seen in the right light or when viewing at sharp angles.
The front fender arches have been cut by a previous owner to enable fitment of wide tires.
All of the plastic trims and stainless bright work are in great condition. All lights and lenses are clear, unblemished and operational.
All original glass with no issues or blemishes.
Engine, Fuel, Ignition, Exhaust and Cooling System:
1500cc engine SOHC engine w/Bosch L-Jet.
New Timing Belt and Tensioner, V-Belt, Water Pump and 02 sensor. Valves adjusted. Fuel tank is in excellent condition. New fuel tank sending unit, pump, filter and supply /return lines.
The engine bay is clean with original, uncut wiring.
Long-tube ceramic coated exhaust header and muffler installed.
The cooling system offers rock-solid temperatures and the fan works correctly. Fins are rust free. Heater valve and all controls work smoothly.
Non-Air conditioned architecture makes routine service in the engine bay much easier.
Electricals
Circuits in great shape, with good voltages, even with wipers, lights and heater fan on. All accessories and lights work. All cabin switches, gauges and clock work as expected.
Power windows are functional on both sides.
Transmission / Clutch / Driveline
The 5-Spd manual transmission is in excellent condition, recently rebuild by Steve Hoelscher. It shifts flawlessly up and down with no synchronizer or reverse issues. Trans does not whine.
New clutch master cylinder and fluid hoses. Clutch works and feels fine.
Steering / Suspension / Tires / Wheels / Brakes
Fresh KYB struts with sport springs at all four corners. Ball joints, tie-rod ends, and control arm bushings are in good condition with no issues. All wheel bearings are solid with no hum or play.
Braking system has been rebuilt with new master cylinder, calipers, flex hoses, and pads.
Alloy 13" BWA "Sport-Star" wheels.
Interior / Top
The black cloth/vinyl interior is extremely clean, with rare uncracked dashboard. Even the glove box door works correctly!
Left door card has a blemish in the vinyl.
Seats are in excellent condition with no tears.
Blaupunkt Cancun removable face DIN cassette tuner in the dash.
Carpets are clean with no worn areas.
Targa top has black headliner and is in correct working condition with fresh seals.
All exterior rubber weatherstripping are original, in excellent, pliable condition.
Front /Rear Trunk
Factory carpet and battery cover intact. Fluid reservoirs in excellent condition.
Rear trunk contains factory jack and toolkit.
Both lower trunk pockets show some signs of all-weather driving in the past.
Original spare tire/wheel.
This car moves briskly, handles crisply, tracks straight, and is vibration / rattle-free
